I’ve just had a baby,
born in the backseat of our car.
Unexpectedly
outside the hospital.

A masked entourage attended.
Gathered swiftly to welcome him
into a towelled embrace 
until I could reach out 
and gather him to me.

I shook with cold, 
adrenaline,
love.

He was here.
He was safe.

Sorry,
I’ve probably ruined the back seat...
